The DBCU Way

DBCU basketball philosophy:

Basketball isn’t just a game; it’s a way of life. It teaches us teamwork, perseverance, and the importance of pushing our limits. At Daytona Beach Christian University Saraphim, our basketball philosophy is deeply rooted in our faith, and we strive to reflect the teachings of Christ in everything we do on and off the court.

We believe that sports provide a unique platform to demonstrate Christ-like qualities such as humility, integrity, and love. Our players are encouraged to play with heart, show respect for opponents, and embody sportsmanship at all times. We aim to glorify God through our dedication, discipline, and the way we treat others, whether we win or lose.

By fostering a culture of encouragement and support within our team, we create an environment where players can grow not only as athletes but also as individuals of strong character. We emphasize the importance of prayer, gratitude, and community, both in our practices and games. Each time we step onto the court, we remember our purpose: to honor Christ through our actions and attitudes.

Ultimately, we hope to inspire our players to carry the lessons learned through basketball into their everyday lives, becoming positive influences in their communities and sharing the love of Christ wherever they go. We are not just building basketball players; we are nurturing leaders who will impact the world around.

Program Overview:

Our mission is to cultivate a love for basketball while developing the skills and character of every player. We aim to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and motivated to reach their full potential on and off the court.
