DBCU Men's Basketball

Shaping champions in faith, character, and skill.

"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." (John 13:34, KJV)

"Dreams really can come true!"

DBCU Basketball is preparing for its 2nd season in school history. The 2025-26 campaign will feature several new faces on the court and a new coaching staff. There is renewed energy and excitement for what looks to be a very interesting and exciting upcoming season in Daytona Beach.

Bio:  Head Coach Gary McDaniel (Coach Mac) enters his 1st season at DBCU. Coach Mac  brings with him a wealth of successful high school and college experience, compiling over 600 victories and 4 Final Four appearances.

Introducing Coach Gary McDaniel:
Director of DBCU Basketball & Head Men's Coach

The DBCU Way

Coach

My basketball philosophy:

Uptempo, on both sides of the floor with high pressure defense, and a lot of ball movement on offense.

Program Overview:

The DBCU Men’s Basketball program places God first, guiding our Seraphim with faith, discipline, and respect. On the court, our high-pressure defense disrupts opponents, while our team-before-personal ethos fosters unity and selflessness. Committed to excellence, our players embody integrity, inspiring fans with relentless effort.

Our mission i

Seraphim Basketball will focus on the overall development of players both on and off the court.  This will be accomplished by creating a culture of teamwork, character, growth mindset, discipline, commitment, and support.

Program objectives:

Our program will seek to equip our athletes with the necessary skills to perform successfully both in BASKETBALL and in LIFE.  Emphasizing sportsmanship, respect, leadership, responsible behavior, and spiritual growth.

Program Structure:

Daily structure will include organization, development, strategizing, and being flexible to needed change to accommodate the goals.

Expectations:

Our program will expect individuals to give 100% to yourself, the coaches, and the team every day. The goal is to consistently strive to get better, focusing on the fundamentals necessary to improve as a player and a person.
